I have three new works recently photographed and now posted on the website. They are diverse in their style and in some ways are experimental. I will comment briefly on each one.
The first piece below is made of two panels and titled "Faint Rendering of Truths".
The title came from my feeling of an alter image that is dissipating and leaving wisps of its prior state. The viewer's eyes fills in the white space with continuation of line and the suggestion of form. I especially like the black and white contrast with a medium value of light blue that softens an otherwise stark image. I introduced in the painting interference blue that shimmers as light shines on the piece or approached from different angles. You can see in this close-up the underlying pattern below.
The next piece is very different and is titled "Primordial Soup of Life".
The name seems fitting as the painting has a free-flowing style that looks to drip off the edges. In this piece I wanted to capture a liquid phase with the feeling of water and its movement. The blues are intense and dramatic which makes the piece pop in my opinion. The background white is actually a pearl pattern that shimmers but is not obvious from the photo. The painting is 3x5 ft. and definitely would make a statement in a large room or building hallway.
The final one is a linear based piece titled "The depth of Greed".
The background reminds me of and patina and copper background. In fact, copper pigment is present that is more apparent visually in person. There are many thin strands of horizontal lines in addition to the thicker pearl and silver lines. Finally, there is interference gold that shimmers similar to the blue described earlier. It is an interesting piece of depth.
Well, that's it for the moment. Visit the site gallery for some additional images.
